Does this run at my own name?
Yes, and that is the whole point of it. Mail sits on your own name, so anything you send or receive shows up as you@yourdomain.com. Is the domain parked with another registrar? Change its MX records to ours and it works from there. Own nothing yet? Buy one at checkout.
Do I need website hosting alongside it?
No. This is mail on its own account: inboxes on your domain, with no web hosting bundled underneath them. There is a caveat, and here it is. Mail already comes free with every hosting plan on our price list, which means the standalone product here is meant for someone whose website sits with a different provider, or for someone who wants an address and nothing else at all.
How many mailboxes, and how much room?
Ten mailboxes is the ceiling, with 10 GB on each, which will hold years of correspondence and attachments, and up to 500 aliases and forwarders alongside them. Push past that and moving onto one of our hosting plans lifts the limits again.
Will it work in Outlook and on a phone?
Yes. Full IMAP, POP and SMTP access runs alongside the webmail interface, which is what keeps Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, Thunderbird and your phone showing the same thing. We hand over the exact server settings. Should anything stick, support will walk you through the connection instead of leaving you to guess.
Will you move my existing mail for me?
We do, at no cost to you. Once the plan is live, raise a support ticket and give us access to whatever mailboxes you are using today. Our team lifts the messages and the folder structure over together, in most cases without any break in service, and leaves nothing stranded on the old server.
